Consider a Chiro

The Australian Chiropractors Association’s new campaign is called “Consider a Chiro” and is part of Spinal Health Week (17-23 August). Australians are asked to consider a chiropractor for ailments such as back pain, neck pain and headaches.

Having these health issues can greatly impact the quality of life of a sufferer. For instance, simple daily activities can be difficult to complete. Back pain, neck pain, and headaches are the most common with people believing they’re a normal part of life.

When it comes to caring for your health and wellbeing, Australians should understand all their options. The great news is that chiropractic may offer a drug-free alternative. It may prevent and alleviate pain, and promote a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.

Back pain

The Institute of Health and Welfare estimates that around 4 million Australians (16% of the population) have back problems. Consequently, chronic back pain is an obvious sign that a chiropractic visit may be needed. Several factors can lead to low back pain including poor posture, excessive sitting, lack of exercise, incorrect lifting techniques, and much more.

Medication is not the only way to treat the problem and a chiropractor knows that there are a number of other treatment options to support a back pain sufferer.

Neck pain

Australians spend on average 10 hours and 24 minutes engaging with an internet device every day. Pain that spreads from the neck towards the shoulders or upper back may often cause headaches. Neck pain might also come with muscle tightness or spasms and you might not be able to move your head very well.

If you’re experiencing neck pain, you are not alone. Up to 50% of people will suffer experience neck pain at some point in their life. Chiropractic care is one way to manage and relieve discomfort caused by neck pain.

Headaches

Every Australian has suffered through a headache of some sort. Consequently, headaches are one of the most common health-related conditions in Australia, and around 15% of people take pain-relieving medication for a headache at any given time. That is over 4 million of us.

Headaches are so common, and most people think getting a headache is a normal part of life. Although it may be easy to take certain medication, if you’re a sufferer of constant headaches, it might be time to try something new.

Chiropractors use specific, gentle spinal adjustments to help alleviate headaches and can also provide lifestyle advice on helping to prevent their reoccurrence. If you’re one of the millions of Australians looking for treatment support with your headache, why not Consider a Chiro.
