The common goal of all chiropractic treatment is to restore or enhance joint function, with the result of resolving joint inflammation and reducing pain.

Joint mobilisations are used to restore joint play that has been lost due to injury or disease. Joint mobilisations aid in breaking down adhesions that disrupt joint movement, decrease pain and increase mobility. There are different grades of joint mobilisations used at Chiro & Sports Med based on how much joint play is available. Joint mobilisation can be performed both on the spine and extremity joints.

Joint adjustments are a classic chiropractic technique that uses specific manual thrusts focused on restoring normal biomechanical function. The most common adjustment technique used at Chiro & Sports Med is called the Diversified Technique. Diversified is considered the most effective chiropractic corrective technique. It is differentiated from other techniques in that its objective is to restore proper movement and alignment of spine and joint dysfunction. This technique involves a short-lever, high-velocity movement with specific contact on the spine or extremity joint to be affected.

Adjustments are given in a specific direction in order to correct joint fixations, decrease muscle tension, reduce stress and improve the function and integrity of the nervous system.
