X-ray
Booking for an X-ray examination is generally required at Chiro & Sports Med. Your X-ray scans are taken after your first consultation with the chiropractor. Note this may require you to stay around 10-15 minutes longer. X-ray examinations look at the many structures in the body. An X-ray test is particularly useful in diagnosing conditions or diseases that affect the bones chest, back, and limbs.
Any special preparation?
In regards to any special preparation – you might have to remove items like watches and necklaces. Even certain types of clothing contain metal objects such as zips. All these items may interfere with the quality of the image taken. Be prepared to wear a gown as sometimes clothing can make it difficult to see the images. Please inform the radiographer who is performing the X-ray if there is any chance you may be pregnant. The safety of the patient and unborn child is the number one priority, so a different approach or test may be needed.
Our radiographer will consult with you before the procedure and explain the process. Their job is to take the best possible image so that your medical condition can be correctly diagnosed. Once you have had your X-ray scan taken – your chiropractor will explain your results to you at the next follow-up appointment.
